Happiness is a choice. 7 ways to choose it. But we think that happiness is by chance. Yes, most of us think that. We feel happy when any such moment, result, and massage will come. But in our life, it is not possible that. All will go in our life according to our wants, it is not possible. 60 to 80% of the time, the result is opposite to our wants. So don’t we have a right to be happy?

Yes, we have the right to be happy. Like Terrance Stanley Fox. Fox was a distance runner and basketball player for his high school. His right leg was amputated at the young age of 17 following a diagnosis of osteosarcoma, although he continued to use a prosthetic leg.

But at the young age of 17 diagnosed with cancer shook his life dreams and personality.

But he never let go of his dream. With the help of a prosthetic leg, he std his running and also played wheelchair basketball in Vancouver, winning three national championships.

 

In 1980, he started the Marathon of Hope, east to west cross-country run to raise money for cancer research.  He hoped to raise one dollar each from Canada’s 24 million people. 

 

 He started in April in St. Johns, Newfoundland and Labrador from east of Canada with little fanfare and ran the compeers of a full marathon every day.  By the time he arrived in Ontario, Fox had become a national star;  He made several public appearances alongside athletes and politicians in his efforts to raise funds.

 

He was forced to end his run outside Thunder Bay when cancer spread to his full body. His hopes of overcoming the disease and finishing his race were dashed when he died nine months later.

 

His full name was Terrance Stanley Fox, in short, he was called Terry fox. Fox earned many awards being, the youngest person to be named Companion of the Order of Canada, Fox won the 1980 Lou Marsh Award as the nation’s top player and was named Canada’s Newsmaker of the Year in both 1980 and 1981.

 

 In the name of Terry Fox, an annual race organized every year since 1981 has grown to include millions of participants in more than 60 countries. And is now the world’s largest one-day fundraiser for cancer research;  He has over C$800 million raised to his name as of April 2020. ( Data source: Terry fox, Wikipedia)

 

It is a matter of great sadness that people are seen looking for happiness in relationships or the things of the world.

But we will get true happiness only when we are happy from the inside. Because we are the only ones who can keep ourselves happy. Otherwise, if we are unhappy inside then all the wealth and fame of the world cannot make us happy.

Like Terry Fox, he chooses his happiness in the service of humanity. He knows very well that he had less time. Happiness is a choice of him.

 

So he devoted his remaining days to the service of humanity. From one leg he covered 5,373 km in 143 days. It was not possible without his courage, passion, and devotion which came because of his soul and mind. He felt happy to do this work.

 

Sometimes the situation is indeed out of our control. Some things in life make us sad, but even without such incidents, people often remain unhappy. Because of their thinking or attitude.

 

Undoubtedly, life is hard and unfair, but how to react to that is our choice. We welcome difficulties and miseries with happiness or with sorrow. And making happiness is a choice.

 

Try to build a minimum of one person happy daily. If you can not do a sort deed, speak a sort word. If you can not speak a sort word, assume a sort thought. Count up, if you can, the treasure of happiness that you simply would dispense in a week, in a year, and a lifetime!

By 7 ways we choose your happiness.

1. Choose a positive attitude-

 

Always live with a positive attitude. A positive attitude helps us in our worst times. It is like an anchor in the ship. Which fixed the shifts in his place during the high winds.

As I explained above Fox’s positive attitude gives him reason to fight. When he lost his one leg.

His positive attitude helps him to keep motivated to keep running and basketball.

The attitude the e his courage and passion to do a cross-country race to raise funds for cancer treatment with long and in his last few days of life.

 

So always live with a positive attitude. It gives light to our life in the darkness of failure, fear, and hopelessness.

 

2. Have constant energy-

 

The secret of an unlimited source of energy is to take full care of our bodies. When we eat healthy things, work out daily get enough sleep and stay away from unhealthy habits like smoking, drinking or overeating.

Then we will have enough energy inside us that we will not get tired even after working hard for the whole day.

 

Another way to increase your energy level is to do mindfulness practice. It is an energy booster drink for our mental and spiritual well-being.

It helps you retain your focus and give peace to your mind and soul. Help our body, mind and spirit run in the same rhythm.

 

3. Keep a strong belief in God-

 

 
Everyone in the world is either an atheist or a theist. belief believe in someone. It may be god and idol people, and philosophy.

Because humans by nature attract them to stop with any idols, give gives them protection and support. Both accept that there is the existence of good or bad, black and White, morality and immorality.

The only difference is that one believes in God and the second does not. My main purpose is to keep light on that fact. On that thing you believe, keep your belief strong day by day.

 

Because it is the last hope. Which people have.

They know that when all the doors are closed. They have the last door of god. Who never let him down.

The stronger the faith, the more happiness and energy in your life. How the faith works. I would tell a story of myself. 

 

When I was a child, I used to be scared of ghosts. I couldn’t sleep at night. And again and again, I thought that someone was scaring me. 

When I told this to my mother, She said some dua, h she said that you should read two or three times when you went to sleep. so that you will get God’s protection.

 

I used to recite dua every night while sleeping with this belief when I prayed. God will protect me, it had an effect and I started sleeping peacefully. 

 

The reason behind the fear Flews from my heart was my faith in God which I learned from my mother.

Faith gives us the energy with miseries, faith is like a shield. Which protects us from sorrow.

 

4. Simplicity is the formula of happiness-

 

Simplicity is the formula of an unbroken mind. The simple mind remains free from contradictions. On the path of spirituality, the mind must be allowed to remain unbroken.

 Osho says, the more you suppress the negative feelings, the more effort it will make to get out in life.  

The person who wants to be simple should tell himself that he will seek what I am born to be.  Whatever is my nature, what is my Swadharma, I will know and recognize that I will be that.  I can’t be anyone else.  I don’t aspire to be anyone else.  If it becomes clear that I do not want to imitate anyone, then a wonderful revolution will happen in life.

5. Peaceful mind is the source of happiness-

 

A peaceful mind helps your mind not to be wandering. It stops the distraction. It helps you to understand your real cause of pain.

 

And helps to find its solutions. Because the real reason behind your miseries is that you never know about the exact cause of pain. It protects you from making an atom bomb.

It calms your mind. And teaches you the powers of silence and patience. It gives you the power to listen to others and understand their emotions. 

 

6. Choose to be Emotional Intelligence-

 

If your body, mind and spirit are running in harmony with the same rhythm, then you will always be strong and you will have the power to work for hours without getting tired.

 

Your energy is not dependent on your age or circumstances because your physical state is directly affected by your emotional state. Emotions and your emotional state are directly affected by your mental state. 

 

For exam simple, a Mother forgives her child’s biggest mistake. Why does this happen? 

Because the mother is so emotionally attached to her child. She can’t accept his mistake. And ready to ignore it. While she knows that his child is wrong.

 

So, emotion very much affects our happiness and in many situations is a vital reason for Sorrow.

Because emotion directly affects our decision. Many times our emotional decisions brought the worst time for us. Therefore, be an Emotional intelligent person.

7. Deep sleep-

 

It sounds strange, but it indeed has a direct relationship between our sleep and our happiness. You observe that we are very irritable in the morning. When we do not get enough sleep at night. If the sequence of bad sleep is start for many days.

Our performance will suffer. We get mentally imbalance. So happiness replaces by sorrow. So by deep sleep, you feel better. Your performance will be well. You mentally become strong. Your mind will be ready to take shocks. And your mind will always choose happiness.

 

Conclusion.

 

So happiness is a choice. Happiness is not by chance. Always choose happiness. Being happy is the easiest thing in the world.  Wake up every morning and decide that today you will be happy, and then see how your whole day passes with laughter and happiness.

 

The same thing with sorrow, if you are unhappy and unhappy inside and tell yourself this over and over again, then whatever happens you will always be unhappy.

 

Now whether you want to be happy or sad, your choice is yours. So happiness is a choice.

 

It is the right of life, however harsh it may be with us. But it is our right to be happy which no one can take away from us.
